Registered and Established in 2005 Karakoram Explorers became the first Company in J&K to provide commercial Paragliding to visiting tourists in the Kashmir region. Currently, Karakoram Explorers owns the safest takeoff point at Srinagar and has a 100% safety record till date. The Company had been instrumental in identifying other potential paragliding sites in the Kashmir Region. The company has done site analysis in diverse regions in Sonamarg, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Doodh Pathari, Kithwar, and Bhadarwah. Karakoram Explorers also introduced commercial white water rafting in Sonamarg and did a survey of the river Chenab for suitable white water rafting stretches. The company was also involved in documentation and Traversing the Trans Himalayan route named the Sapphire trek which connects Atholi in the Padder region of J&K to Padum in Zanskar Ladakh via the Umasila pass.
